We are excited to host this 1st year event in Des Moines for Boys teams. Join us for this competitive event, we are looking forward to a great weekend.

Entry Fee: 

1 team – $225

Roster Restrictions:

-Players are allowed to play on multiple teams “AS LONG AS IT IS IN A DIFFERENT DIVISIONS.” For example if there is a 6th Red and 6th Blue division a player can play on multiple teams in each division. If there is just one division then a player MUST play on 1 team in that grade division. A player may also “PLAY UP” a grade, but may not “PLAY DOWN” a grade.

Hotel Accommodations:

Iowa Gym Rats Basketball has a “Stay to Play” policy for all tournaments.

“Stay to Play” – This requires all out of town teams and participants in need of hotel accommodations must make their reservations through TBD Travel Services to ensure placement in the tournament. 

* It is required that teams book all of their housing through this service to ensure placement in this tournament. By not using this service, your team may incur a penalty or disqualification. No refunds will be given.

* This is a complimentary service and makes securing your rooms quick and easy
with 24 hour online access to hotel availability.

Iowa Gym Rats is excited to once again partner with 1 Movement Hoops and Phenom Basketball to bring a great event to Kansas City, KS.

This event will be played at Homefield KCK in Kansas City, KS. This facility is a premier facility for basketball in the country.

This tournament will bring many of the top teams from around the Midwest together during the Winter season. We look forward to having you joining us!

-Games will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

-3 games guaranteed with many playing for due to bracket play

-2 certified officials

-Games will go from 6pm-10pm on Saturday, 8am–10:00pm on Saturday and 8:00am–5pm on Sunday

Gym Rats Winter League 2026 “2nd Season” (4V4 K-1st Boys, 4V4 K-2nd Girls, 5V5 3rd-6th Girls, 2nd-6th Boys)

We are excited to offer a second season for Gym Rats Winter League. THIS IS NOT A HIGH LEVEL LEAGUE. This year’s Winter League will not have spectator admission fees. We are excited to offer this league and build on the success of session 1 of the Gym Rats league. 

Event:

Gym Rats Winter League 2027 (2nd Season)

Who:

K-1st Boys & K-2nd Girls will play 4v4 (Based on 2026-2027 school year)

2nd-6th Boys & 3rd-6th Girls will play 5v5 (Based on 2026–2027 school year)

League Dates and Schedule Details:

Full league schedule will be posted by 10:00pm on December 28th.

  • Week #1 – January 3rd, 2027
  • Week #2 – January 10th, 2027
  • Week #3 – January 17th, 2027
  • Week #4 – January 24th, 2027
  • Week #5 – January 31st, 2027
  • Games are played on Sunday’s only throughout the course of the league
  • Games will be scheduled within the 1:00-8:00 timeframe.
  • Teams will play 1 game each weekend.
  • Schedule for all weeks will be released before Week 1.

Divisions may be capped at 8 teams per division.

$500 per team (5 game guarantee)

League Details:

-Games WILL be played on Sunday Afternoon, primarily between 1:00-8:00.

-Teams will play every week unless requested differently. Off weekends will not be rescheduled. 

-Teams will play 1 game per date. This will allow teams to play all other teams in their respective divisions.

-Please contact director if you want to participate in league but have a team that may need special schedule. Certain situations may be accommodated but not guaranteed.

-5 game guarantee. Every team will play 1 games per weekend.

-Team must provide own uniforms

-Daily Admission will not be charged for spectators

We are excited to continue the Snowball Shootout again in 2027. We look forward to having teams from around the state join us for another year of great competition.

-Warm Up Basketballs:
WE WILL BE PROVIDING WARM UP BASKETBALLS AT THE IYAF SPORTS COMPLEX, AS WELL AS GAME BALLS! (PLEASE INFORM PLAYERS AND PARENTS TO NOT BRING THEIR BASKETBALLS TO THESE GYMS). Warm up basketballs & game balls will be needed at 515 Fieldhouse as they are NOT provided at this facility.

We have partnered with “Be the Beast” Live streaming this year and all games played at “515 Fieldhouse Courts”, “Kingdom Courts, and “IYAF Fieldhouse” will be live streamed each weekend for parents or families members that can not attend.
